The Family Housing Fund and ULI Minnesota recently prepared a report titled: Redevelopment in the Twin Cities: A Developer’s View after realizing from many Rethinking Housing discussions that in order to rethink housing, there is a need to rethink how housing is actually created. After interviewing ten private developers who routinely do redevelopment projects in the Twin Cities, they found similar responses from the developers regarding the fact that in order to effectively do redevelopment, a new type of interaction between developers and public officials is needed. The report is intended to spark new conversation between public officials and the development community with the report’s findings as a starting point.
